Excellent lodges and some of the best hummingbird and antpitta feeding stations anywhere make it easy to see why the area provides some of the most rewarding birding in all of Peru. This 11-day journey spans tropical forests, mountains, and cloud forests, all teeming with life. Explore this avian-rich region to discover Peru’s unique bird species and ecosystems in this compact yet highly diverse tour.

Weather and climate
Northern Peru features varying climates: low and mid-elevations are warm and humid, while higher elevations like Abra Patricia are cooler, especially at night. We recommend light layers for the humid lowlands and insulating layers for cooler highland regions.
