Birding Belize on a Budget

Despite its tiny size, the nation of Belize hosts an impressive diversity of birds–boasting a list of over 600 species. The rich birdlife, beautiful tropical habitats, and unique cultural history make this a favorite Central American destination for nature lovers.

This short tour is designed for those who want an inexpensive, yet rewarding introduction to birding in Belize. We will stay at just two lodges–La Milpa Ecolodge and Bird’s Eye View Lodge–allowing us more time to thoroughly explore the surrounding areas.. These carefully chosen locations will serve as our base as we explore a wide variety of habitats in search of the incredible birds and wildlife this region has to offer. We will experience a true taste of tropical birding as we see birds like toucans, parrots, and tanagers. We will also have a chance to observe several of the region’s endemic and sought-after bird species, including several Yucatán specialties.

If you’re interested in a slow-paced and inexpensive introduction to the birds of Belize or Central America, this is a great tour for you.
