Peru is a legendary birding destination, offering unique landscapes and a wealth of biodiversity. With over 1,800 recorded bird species, including endemic and high-altitude varieties, Peru’s ecosystems range from the Pacific coast to the Amazon rainforest. Join us on this 12-day Peru Birding Tour for an immersive experience across the country’s most celebrated birding hotspots and cultural sites. We’ll explore Lima’s wetlands, Cusco’s historical sites, the cloud forests of Machu Picchu, and the pristine depths of Manu National Park.

Weather and climate

Peru’s diverse geography means varying climates: coastal Lima is mild and dry, the Andes (Cusco and Machu Picchu) are cooler with possible rain, and Manu is hot and humid. We recommend light layers for warmer regions and insulating layers for cooler highlands.
